RNG

Generate concepts
The Random Number Generator Project's purpose it to teach students how to solder through practice. By becoming familiar with our own circuit kits, components, and soldering equipment to assemble a working game. Through this project we applied how to read capacitors and resistors and soldering them in the circuit board.
Goals:
• Create a working RNG
•Correctly solder the components
•Reading/identifying capacitors and resistors
• Create a working RNG
•Correctly solder the components
•Reading/identifying capacitors and resistors
Construct and Test Prototype
Evaluate the solution
Conclusion Questions:
1. My data for each of my numbers were not exactly even but relatively fair. They were all close to the average percentage of 16.67%. I do believe the RNG is fair and if a game was played with a larger sample size, the numbers would probably be distributed more evenly.
2. Debugging is the process of finding and fixing problems and defects that stop software and systems from working properly. The terms comes from when Admiral Grace Hopper was fixing a comupter at Harvard when they discovered a moth stuck inside and she coined the phrase that she was "debugging" the computer.

Reflection:
I really enjoyed this project, at the beginning I was intimidated at the idea of soldering. I was afraid that I would burn myself or incorrectly place the components. However this project taught me a lot about staying focused and following directions closely. I was able to read the resistor bands, capacitors and ICs , as well as putting the correct ends of the LEDS in the circle and square holes. Working though the process with others around me really helped me learn as well. We would use each other as resources shoring how we did our own steps and double checking the components before we soldered them into place. At the beginning, it was difficult to solder and trying to figure out the best approach, adding too much or not enough iron, but by the end of the project I had perfect little Hershey kisses!
